Website Revamping

Hello all,

We're coming up on a major revamping of our existing website at http://www.heirot.net. There is a lot of information to add and features to put into place. I wanted to start this thread as a brainstorming thread for your ideas and suggestions. Don't worry about how practical or far-fetched they seem. Ideas that apply to the forum portion of the site are welcome also, as always. It obviously won't be possible to implement every idea, but let's just get them all out here and talk about them, then see what we can do.

A list of some ideas that have been mentioned so far, that I can remember right now:

- More detailed information about the Outerlands
- Race information for Dark Angels
- Revised worldmap
- Several updates to the rules (let me know if you are aware of more)
- - - explain the Lore system for completed threads
- - - new system for character profile revision
- - - revised admin list and explanation of the "avatar" titles for admins
- A 'tips for good roleplaying' section
- A possible system to assign guides to new players
- A Heirot store
- A gallery of users' art off the main site

If you have feedback on any of these ideas, feel free to voice it here. Remember when commenting on each others' ideas to be as constructive and supportive as possible - we are all trying to make Heirot even cooler together.

The first thing that must be done before we can kick off content upgrades is to switch our site to a format that utilizes cascading style sheets. My estimated time when I'll be able to sit down and do this is 2-3 weeks from now. That is the boring web development part. It won't make the site look particularly different, but it will make the rest of our content upgrades much easier and smoother. With that infrastructure in place, we can dive into our content changes and have some fun with graphics and any other suggestions you guys present.

The mock news and world events are good ideas that we've come up with. We can try to get all members involved in these such things and maybe even hand out some kind of cool reward if they participate?
