Lore: Safe Haven

The only known village of the J'ra people. A peaceful place full of culture and beauty. Those who do not wish to brave the seas to be taught by the grand warriors in Ongoreth come here thinking they can be trained by these people, but this is a mistake.

Maximus was wondering along aimlessly through the tall grass. His eyes were very watchful to anything that was eye level or above. At the moment the sky seemed more interesting to him than the ground. The air was cool, and it tossed his neck length black hair around. He continued walking, admiring the sunrise, and slipping his hands into his pockets. He saw the village up a head and paused, arching an eyebrow. "Eh..." he muttered, reaching up and scratching the back of his head. "Must have took a wrong turn somewhere." He looked back, and then towards the shimmering village that looked so much like it was made of gold.

"Hmm... I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to visit." A wirey smile spread across his features as he continued forward. He hadn't been this far into the mainland in a while, and had never wondered around long enough to know the roads very well. He could have sworn he was heading to another village that was a little.... rougher. What was the name of that place again? He couldn't remember.

Maximus was walking along, moseying along rather. He was in no hurry, so he really didn’t have to move with hurried movements. Why, that would just be a waist of energy. Like usual, he wasn’t paying much attention to the lower surroundings, so when his foot was caught on something he was a bit surprised. Especially when he started losing his balance and glanced down to find he was about to topple over a young... girl. Being the wonderful gentleman at heart, Maximus did what he could to avert the disaster, throw his balance into a direction other than pivoting forward. He threw himself off balance slinging his head back. He fell flat on his back, staring up at the morning sun.

“Good, grief,” he huffed, angling his head to look at what he had almost crushed.

Maximus slowly stood up, dusting off his clothing and straightening his shirt. He glanced at her, a broad smile stretching across his face. "I've never graced the gates of this place before. Afraid I'm just as lost as you. Wouldn't hurt to look around. I could use a good bite to eat myself. You know, hiding in the grass isn't something you want to do near a heavily treaded path."

He thought for a moment and dug in his pocket, apparently looking for something. He glanced around, his belt, and still unable to find what he wanted, his eyes fell to the ground. He pushed back the grass where he had fallen and from the midst of the blades of grass he pulled a small half-empty pouch. He shook it, listening to the coins jingle. To his dismay, he was a lot shorter on money than he had suspected.

"Wait! Hey! Come back! I have an easier way!" Maximus declared, taking several steps forward. Her arched an eyebrow as he watched her run after the hens. They made loud frightened clucking nooises and scattered quickly, running and flapping their wings until they were a safer distance away.

Maximus calmly walked forward, and they didn't scatter quickly with him. His movements were slow, and he held his coin bag out as if it had feed. He reached inside, and they all suddenly seemed to flock towards him. He reached into the bag, nelt down and pulled out a fist full of nothing. Though, the chickens obviously didn't know that. He held his hand out, and they eased further in. And suddenly his hand flew out. It caught the tail of a fleein poltry. The hen clucked histericly as he stood, flapping her wings and kicking her legs. Maximus just grabbed her feet as they flailed and hugged the poor thing to his chest. After a moment, she stopped her struggling.

His eyes glanced to the girl, and he smiled broadly at her. "Patients is a virtue," he told her charmingly.
