Kat stopped walking under one of the moonbeams that broke through the dense trees. Traveling in full darkness would not be a good thing to do.
"Maybe... we should stop... here?" She suggested in uncertainty of how Drakoe would take showing through her demeanor. The forest was eerie at night. It was a kind of place Kat made habit to avoid, until she had come across Zeikiel. A forest was full of hiding places bandits could use to advantage; a thing Kat well understood in her longs years as a servant to a mapmaker traveling all of Heirot.

Drakoe laughed softly as the girl suddenly changed her mind. "Alright... We can stop here." He stopped and found a nice little beam of light off of the road where they could hopefully rest peacefully.
"I don't think we should start a fire," he said as he took a seat by a tree that had fell. There was a slight chill in the air though it was not a cold night. "I'll keep watch while you get some rest."

He smiled. "Yes, you need your rest." His hair swayed in the soft breeze. "I will be fine to stay awake." He inclined his head back against the tree, looking up into the darkness of night. The moon cast shadows flicked creepily across the ground.
Birds scattered through the sky chirping loudly. Drakoe jumped to his feet and scanned the area around him. Something had startled the birds, and he hoped it was only a deer or small animal; but something in his gut told him it was something much worse.

A plume of smoke rose up in the distance over the trees. The earth shook under their feet just as Drakoe had spotted it. "This can't be good," he murmured, stating the obvious.
"Come on," he said grabbing Kat by the hand and pulling her close behind. He had to check this out. It was obviously some kind of major attack.

Drakoe knew that it seemed like a bad idea but it really wasn't. If Dan and Zeik were anywhere near here, they would go and check this out. This would be as good a place as any to look for them.
"I know it may seem like a stupid decision, but you'll have to trust me," he yelled as he continued running, keeping her close behind.

Kat followed him through the trees with no great difficulty, but she worried over the situation. Animals running from something bad, smoke... it didn't entail something good at all. In fact, Kat felt an ominous feeling as they keep running, she also thought she had heard people, but she saw no one...yet.
ooc: once i can get Zeik and Dan at the site of hepian we'll join up, but for now just reply to this then we'll wait till they get there and we'll join up again.

OOC: yes. but i'm concerned for the future of this entire thread line since Dan has yet to return from...where ever...
If she doesn't return I can just say in the chaos they got separated, and Zeik being Zeik didn't give a damn and caught back up with these two because he's still interested with Kat
