1) Name: Arlian Bordain
2) Gender: Male
3) Age: 19
4) Race: Human/ Demon / Waterlord
5) Job/Class: Healer/ Doctor
6) Power: Arlian is a very gifted healer with an expansive knowledge of healing herbs and potions. He has the best of both worlds when it comes to controlling the elements. He has power over both Fire and Water. Though he cannot create water he can bend it to his will. Fire on the other hand, he can create out of nothing and do with it magnificent things, though he doesn’t unless forced to. Arlian is also skilled with a blade. He keeps his own at his side at all times. It is a small light weight sword for quickness and speed. It is only 16” long and weighs 6 ½lbs. It is not used to over power an opponent but to outsmart and out maneuver him.
7) Appearance: He is around 5’9” and weighs about 160lbs. He usually wears grey garments of nice quality. His hair is a light brown and flows down just past his shoulders. His torso is well built and rather ripped. He has no excess fat and his face is slender. His cheek bones are well rounded and connect to his jaw flawlessly. His eyes are teal and deep. His eyebrows are well plucked and curve to his eyes giving him a keen and sharp look. His nose is rather slender and a slight lump shapes it. His ears are oval shaped and curve down with a small lobe at the bottom.
8) Weaknesses: Arlian, like most people, is vulnerable to ranged attacks. He can deflect them most of the time but if he is caught with his guard down, it’s over. He is a bit unyielding when it comes to authority, though he is a very respectful man. (You respect him and he respects you.) Another key thing that tends to slow Arlian down or have a bit of control over him is his insatiable love of women. They always seem to be somewhat part of the reason he gets in his predicaments. Married or not, he’ll try his hand, and usually succeed. Though he can control both Fire and Water, they drain him of his energy if he uses them extensively without rest. Fire itself is an evil power and if he uses it too much and too lavishly it will consume him and have affect on his thoughts and emotions.
9) Biography: Arlian was conceived in the village of Obsidian deep in the mountains that separated the two world powers, Ighten and Arken. (Obsidian is also the village where my character Airen is from. Arlian is the half- brother of my characters Airen and Damien. They all had the same father, Airis, a demon who is now dead after being killed by Airen).
Arlian was born to a single mother who loved and cared for him dearly. Though a bit subtle about her power of healing and knowledge of the art, she cared for the villagers as if they were her own kin and usually charged them little or nothing for her services. She was about as kind hearted as a person could be. Arlian didn’t know his father and didn’t particularly worry about it. He did have a male mentor in his life though and his name was Barlin. Arlian admired Barlin and his stories of great adventures. Barlin was known for being the village storyteller. In his younger days he traveled a lot and saw many things. He tells tails of dragons, demons, elves, and on rare occasions he would tell of the great Queens of Arken and Ighten. Arlian was always intrigued by his stories no matter the topic or the length of them. Since Arlian was old enough to recall he remembered Barlin being in his life. He was a strong, stout man of great intellect. Barlin knew that Arlian didn’t have a father in the home and accepted the boy’s companionship. At the age of two Elexus, Arlian’s mother, had taught him how to read and write. He ran and climbed with the other children but he was much stronger and faster than them giving him the upper hand in their games. By the age of six, Barlin had taught Arlian how to defend himself with a blade and even a few offensive techniques. As he grew, he became a well rounded person. He was very open-minded and sharp as a needle. When he turned 13 his mother informed him of his gift of water magic and began training him in its use. Along with the water magic, she taught him of the herbs and potions used for healing.
By the time of his fifteenth birthday, Arlian knew which herbs and potions could heal someone and bring them from their deathbed; he also knew which ones could send them there. His power over water grew slower though. He had learned to sculpt things from puddles and such but nothing of any magnitude. Barlin was the only villager that knew of Arlian and his mother’s power. Arlian had also developed a keen interest in girls. He often found himself being late for his sparring practice with Barlin, because he and some young lady had been down by the creek side where he showed off and won over the girl’s heart. Barlin would get aggravated but quickly got over it. Arlian had trained to the point to where he barely tried in fighting, but could still disarm and disable Barlin. On his 17th birthday, Barlin had decided that he had taught Arlian all he could. He felt pleased and confident that Arlian could withstand and defeat all but the most powerful of opponents. His training in the water arts continued however. He and his mother practiced it long and hard everyday.
On a cool autumn day, Arlian took a stroll with one of the nobleman’s daughters into the woods. They found themselves talking and flirting earlier during the week and Arlian asked her out. She agreed and they were now sitting in the woods next to a nice cozy fire. Arlian’s senses had grown. Not just his physical senses but his sense of magic. He could perceive the use of magic around him now, unless it was well hid by its user. As the fire blazed and the girl lied across his chest, he sensed power within the fire. He reached out to it with his mind and it seemed to listen to his wishes. He seduced the fire as if it was a young girl and it returned his tenderness with its cooperation. That night when he returned home he told his mother of the new power he had discovered. She sighed with dread. She never told him of his father and hoped that he would never uncover the darkness of using fire magic. Fire consumed its wielder most of the time and turned him into something dark and evil. Most good-hearted fire mages were very strong willed and did not succumb completely to the seduction of the great power.
Elexus told Arlian of his father and of the power he had just discovered. She told him how it had consumed his father and turned him into dark and evil demon. She warned of its power and how addictive it was. Arlian heeded her warning but practiced it still in secret.
Now at 19, Arlian controls both fire and water with a slight ease. When he practices his fire, he uses it a little at a time. If he feels the power trying to take over his mind, Arlian will end his training for the day. He practices his water magic regularly and has even developed ways to use it in his healing. He helps his mother in taking care of the people of Obsidian but occasionally wanders off to Lowight or Hepian to experience new things and new women outside of his home.
10) Personality: He is very respectful and has the best of manners. He will speak with anyone who will speak back to him. If a person shows him disrespect, he will show them the same courtesy he has received. Though very strong and powerful he does not boast about it. He is very confident in everything he does. Arlian seems to be a very flirtatious when it comes to females, on most occasions. If it is a man’s wife, he will respect the man until he gets ‘the look’ from the wife. If she shows the slightest glint of interest, he wastes no time in trying to seduce her and win her over.
