Hey, I KNOW there are Gackt fans here so for you, Gackt is in the US! He's in california. He's putting on a special concert for his DEARS but for some reason American DEARS aren't allowed in.
Anyone have any input on this?
Gackt!

I like him, but I don't like him enough to know the names of his fan clubs and so forth. I assume if they don't want gaijin at the concert, it's because he's not comfortable with American fans' forward sexuality, but then again this is a guy who's filmed multiple nude commercials and humped his male band members on stage.
American fans aren't as crazy as Japanese fans. I spent some time in Japan and my host sister literally screamed when her favorite singer came on TV! I'd understand if she screamed if she met him on real life or was at a concert; but at home in the living room?
I don't know about anyone else but my family doesn't get that crazy, we just sit there, watch and talk about what we are watching.
Yes, true, Japanese people are shy but they can get crazier than we do when they find something they want. Never come between a fan girl in Japan and her favorite anything(singer actor ect) cuz you'll get run over (literally or figuratively doesn't matter) by her and possibly get killed on the ground.
You can always tell who is a fan of who by who attacks you if you bad mouth certain people or if they have that person's name on them or whatever.
Speaking out in public is kind of embarrassing. Anyone who belives that all Americans are like that has watched too many movies. Any Americans who believe that our sexuality is 'too forward' is really conservative or embarrassed.
Too bad Gackt doesn't do that fan service anymore. His fan service was really sexy. *drool*

I'm sure some American fans do the same thing. I mean, how often do you see commercials of guys shouting at the Super Bowl when they're watching it on TV.
That being besides the point, one of my Japanese-American friends is considered a Dai fan (trans: Big Fan) And she does do the screaming stuff for L'arc en Ciel... or more specifically Hyde. She actually screams at just the mention of his name, or L'arc.
Anyway, I'm sure that there are still plenty of Dai fans even in America for various boy bands and stuff. Your family is too small to be a sample group for it.
